Once day I got a message from Paul’s then girlfriend.

“Larry Taylor called and said he has a gig you will dig.”

When I called back, Larry told me John Mayall wanted a guitarist to replace Jesse Edwin Davis and that he’d recommened me. He gave me the date of the rehearsal (or was it an audition?).
