Spotify’s New Scam

I’ve been composing, playing and recording music for over 51 years. My first album, “Choice Cuts” by the Pure Food and Drug Act didn’t sell a lot when it came out in 1972. I have 20% (20 points) on a few songs on it. 51 years later, I still get a few dollars from plays on TV and radio, via BMI.

My music will not have wide appeal, but it has an audience and that makes me happy. I do not look to my online tracks to make a living, although many artists would like to at least make a decent supplement to theirs. For me, Spotify represents 80% of the streams online.
